Offered is this nearly unblemished and very well-preserved, estate fresh and new to the marketplace,
one of two ancestral, imperial court, opaque watercolor paintings on silk,
framed in a period dark stained wooden frame and matted with highly decorative, ornamental embroidered silk fabric. The original painting is laid down on board and has gray hardboard backing, with brass holding clasps. Atop the frame sits the original ornamental reticulated brass hanger for wall mounting. The image is of a seated

of the
Qing Dynasty,
dressed in a formal royal blue and cordovan silk robe, with white silk lining and an orange belt. The
Emperor Qianlong
holds in one hand, a three-pronged spear and staff on an angle in front of him. He wears a traditional period brimmed, feather cap with a cloth sash above the brim. He sits on a wooden chair or throne and looks back at the viewer in a full, frontal posture, sure of himself and unafraid of a single thing. 100% untouched. Found in a
