    Description

    **
This store is where an old collector of Chinese paintings offers for sale items that he finds interesting, beautiful and thought-provoking.
Each buyer is invited to use his/her judgment as to the probability of authenticity of the paintings - that is where the fun of collecting is
    .
    **
    Attributed to Yun Shouping (1633-1690)
, these four paintings are typical of this artist's "bird an flower" style, although I have never seen in any of his known works such complex and refined compositions and colour harmonies.
On each, there is an inscription, a signature
    and a seal
    attributed to this
    artist, and one or two
    collector's seals.
    This
"bird an flower" style is called
'boneless', meaning that the artist paints without outlines, after
    Xu Congsi (Northern Song Dynasty
    )
    .
If these works are imitations, their fine brushwork and bright colours come very close to those encountered in known paintings by
    Yun Shouping
    - in my humble opinion, closer than many works attributed to him in major auction venues in the last few years.
