    Description

For your consideration, a charming pair of antique Chinese paintings of warriors, possibly Door Gods.
The paintings were purchased at the Great Wall in 1934 and described as "Old" at that time of purchase per the inscriptions on the frames.
Given the wear and composition, I'd date the pair to the 19th century and suspect they were originally part of a scroll painting and later salvaged and framed separately.
The pieces have wear and cracks consistent with a rolled up scroll and have been mounted on paper.
Maple wood frames are in good condition with mild wear and chipping to dark green painted trim.
    Measure 8 5/8 x 14 1/8 inches including frame.
    Signature required for delivery.
