Li Ming whose dates are unknown served in the royal court during the reign of Qianlong (1736 - 1795) and Jiaqing  (1796 -  1820) .  He excelled  in figure and bird-and-flower paintings.
The painting in meticulously worked out composition presents figures in the Buddhist realm against a natural setting. Use of colors of red, green, yellow, azurite, malachite, gold powder and gold foil sets off the sublime, awe-inspiring and mysterious atmosphere of the deities realm. Among the figures are independent deities and also characters in Buddhist tales. Some episodes are presented in an extensive composition with many figures. The precise, smooth and vivid delineation bring out the attires and their ornaments meticulously. The motifs of the painting are human figures, but the background is the nature full of life.
