Antique Arts and Crafts Hammered Bronze Door Knocker Chain and Gavel

Description

For sale is an unusual hammered bronze door knocker with a gavel and chain affixed to the plate, likely dating from the arts and crafts period of the late 19th century or early 20th century. The gavel symbolism may indicate that this was originally for a law firm or judge. The name on the front of the plate is 'M. J. Simone' and there is also some writing on the back that is difficult to discern.
The bronze plate measures approximately 6" x 4"
